• Officer promotions: Managed by the Officer Community Manager and released after Senate confirmation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I find the Navy advancement results?

Navy enlisted advancement results are released by the Navy Personnel Command (NPC) at mynavyhr.navy.mil. Results are posted under the "Career & Personnel" section. The Navy Advancement Center also emails results directly to test-takers. Check NPC's official website or contact your command career counselor.

How does Navy enlisted advancement work?

Navy enlisted advancement (E-4 through E-6) is exam-based — Sailors take Navy-Wide Advancement Exams (NWAEs) and results are determined by a performance mark average, exam score, time in rate, and service record factors. E-7 through E-9 (Chief, Senior Chief, Master Chief) are selection board processes, not exam-based.

When does the Navy release Chief advancement results?

Chief Petty Officer (E-7) selection board results are released annually, typically in the summer after the board convenes. Senior Chief (E-8) and Master Chief (E-9) results follow a similar annual board cycle. Check mynavyhr.navy.mil for the current board convene and release schedule.
